Palmer was always a favourite. I remember him in that episode as a guest at Fawlty Towers.

In America, they have ("had" until Trump at least) the Public Broadcasting System (PBS). They pulled in several shows from BBC and my wife fell for "As Time Goes By". My son got an appreciation from that series as well; Geoffrey Palmer was consistently excellent in his role.
