Too right you are, Heather!
The "world" inside the phone is vast, enticing, and completely artificial. Its magic is the offer of escape, more powerful than any drug, longer lasting, far more dangerous. It is completely changing what it is to be human; indeed destroying what it is to be human. No art, no beauty, no hope.
Ironically, it is the tool through which we can share your images, talk amongst ourselves here, and I can rail about the dangers and abuses. GRIN!
As far as the beauty and humour around us that so many miss because they are adding another nose-print to their dam phone, I cannot agree more.
We have young rabbits in the garden, including this bold little fellow:
My old friend shares a morning cuppa...
I can still use my hands to repair and restore this old beat-up toolbox bought at a jumble-sale for $15...
...and not a tablet, phone, or laptop in sight.
Then I can crack out those tools of the devil, but to use them to say hello to you. Perhaps there is a bit of merit to them after all!
