As far as Pat, he'll have to suck it up. He eats my ribwort and clover, so I get the naming privileges.
My Darling Bride, being a product of Northern Virginia Suburbia, gets on about the lawn having "weeds" in it rather than the perfect turf Americans seem obsessed with. She wanted to talk with me Sunday evening about her brother's (he is a high form of life at Lowes; a B&Q style DIY warehouse chain) recommendations for lawn care products especially as we have a bumper crop of ribwort this season.
It was a short conversation; why would anyone want to chem up the rabbits, birds, neighbourhood cats, and other wildlife rather than just mow it all even on occasion and call it done? If it's green and cuts evenly, it's "grass".
