I've had the odd large hawk decide to hang around from time to time, looking for opportunities such as that, as well as the bird-feeders and the squirrels in the maple trees. Damn big bird as he sits on the rose-arch between the house and the workshop and doesn't give an inch as I might walk up to the door of the shop, but he certainly has his eye on me.

It's a regular eco-system in my garden. Even had the odd young black bear pass through, looking for what would be his territorial claim after mother ran his young-adult butt out of her's.

Any neighbour who has a small dog has no rabbits. The people behind have a big yellow lab. He couldn't care less about them; there will be two or three sharing his yard and he seems quite happy to see them. He's a good guy, Duke is.
