Recently in my neighborhood an old corner store business was converted after many years being vacant. The previous owners got old and couldn't update the building for a deli/butcher/grocery. They knew all the kids in the neighborhood over 50+ yrs. And everyone knew they had the community in mind.
They commissioned a mural to reflect the diversity in the 'hood. The new owners are keeping the community in mind too. They honor the legacy of the previous owners with photos of the old place. They have a coffee and pastry thing with a patio now.
They are a leather works company and this is mostly a demo shop for show but they sell some items.
And the mural is still there and the old store sign too.
live long and prosper as best you can
