There's a perception of a manufactured holiday to make a minority group happy. That's unfortunate.

Black Americans helped create Memorial Day; they deserve MORE credit for that. That was something I never knew until I was down in Charleston and read it in the paper (the excellent 'Post and Courier' of Charleston). This is from Time:
