They let school out early; parents came to pick us up, though normally many of us walked to school, which was nearby.
Some of them were crying a little, so we knew it was something heavy.
I remember Oswald's assassination onTV, too. Even at 7 I knew it wasn't like a gangster show on the tube, that he'd really been killed.
