I have watched and heard many stories of 'wild' animals coming to humans to help rescue one of their own.

Recently I read a story of a little boy whose sled took him out onto the ice of a river whereupon he fell through and could not pull himself up and out to safety. A pack of wolves were watching him from the bank as he struggled and screamed for help. Then the wolves came out onto the ice and grabbed his clothing with their teeth and pulled him up onto the ice. Then he got up and walked back home... with a story to tell.
