a nightmare!

I read a sci-fi book about a utopian society that was isolated from the outside world. No one died, but they did not reproduce either. They had a council of elders who severely limited access to any kind of violent movies, books, or any outside influence that could infect or tarnish their perfect world. They did age eventually, but when it was time, they had test tube babies or clones in which they would download their "essence" or contents of their brain/memories into the new vessel. Sounds like it would get rather boring after awhile! LOL
