It would be nice to have you beside me helping me push on. That is so very kind what he did for you! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by the pain that I just want to give up and it's my PT or OT who currently pushes me to keep going. I can't have family members involved with that stuff. Too distracting.

The nerve is alive, but if it refuses to eventually calm down as the muscle re-enervates, I may gain control over moving my leg how I want to, but then also be stuck with the pain.

IF that happens, I already told my neurosurgeon that I want her to kill the nerve and I'll just start over teaching other functionung muscles to take over. They are already starting to do that so it could be relatively easy... comparatively speaking.

Life would not be worth living if the current degree of pain that nerve is dishing out doesn't resolve or lessen considerably to manageable levels.

It is honestly THAT BAD when an injured or stretched nerve roars back to life. It is constantly screaming at me and "treating me" to sensations like feeling thousands of sharp pins being stuck into my foot and toes, while blowing up the rest of my leg and setting it on fire at the same time.
