No Elbert today. Part of smart mountaineering is reading weather and conditions. Saw the storm clearing on Antero and Princeton with another coming in. Very high wind up there whipping the new snow into dry slab cornices. Once on a ridge, it would be OK. But below the ridge on the way there, even on a convex slope has a serious avalanche factor. Even though the snow pack is thin and early, this last snow fell on top of an older snow, and the in between layer is hoary and unstable. This is a day NOT to climb.
This is a really scary looking north face of Antero.
The ballet story is meant as satirical Borowitzian humor. You pronounce ballet with the T, honoring a felon who neither reads or spells worth an old owl pellet. Illegal ballets seized. Or you can further birdify with ill-eagle ballets. Art Linkletter muttered "Kids say the darnedest things!" Nothing like a House Party, eh?
Pikes Peak from Grays Peak
This is a time of exploration. Church goes with me wherever I go. When I am with my bowling teams, that's church. When I am here speaking and thinking long distance over linear time with you, that's church too. It's any gathering of people. We don't have to be in a building, under a cross, sing and talk Jesus or religion at all. You're sacred. We're all sacred. Everything in creation is sacred. How richly we respect these sacred things! Even he is sacred.
"Pet me! Please oh please pet me!
What could possibly be the harm?"
