Here in Canada,we are hearing more and more stories of US border agents acting like assholes, theoretically given permission to do so by that shit-stain you call a president.

One agent that I heard of told two Canadians just passing through the US that he should tear up their passports because they'll need US passports when Canada becomes a state. And he kept making the same type of snide comments while questioning them.

Another Canadian I personally know was strip searched when all he was trying to do was deliver a form to the border agents. He wasn't even going into the US, just trying to make a delivery.

No wonder your tourism industry is drying up.

I feel worst for small businesses on the American side

but also emphatically said that Canada is NOT for sale to America and emphasized "friendship" as what they seek. As is his typical, dt is morphing his comments into what the P.M. is pushing for because he is off his balance with the P.M. taking a stand that Canada will NOT become the 51st state.

If he agrees to anything, Canada shouldn't trust it because he changes his mind according to the last voice he hears.

We are all SO SCREWED if he doesn't just have a stroke or die in his sleep. Seriously. I've never wished ANYONE dead or ill-health, but HE has pushed so far that I now do.

WOW!! For what little it means overall, Canada has my apologies for what a bimbo America elected

so disgusting, there are no words to express how it makes me feel. It just makes me furious and so ashamed and wanting to crawl into a hole and wanting to shout on the rooftops all at the same time.

We've had a trip planned to go out of country, and now I don't even know if we should go. I really don't know what to do.

Well, if this is any indication, my two daughters traveled overseas since dt came into office

J and her little family went to Costa Rica in late February. It was awesome there, but in their 10 days there, they quickly learned NOT to mention being from America when asked. The exceedingly polite chill that ensued even after friendly conversations was obvious to them immediately.

K went with 2 close friends to Japan in March for the 2025 Star Wars convention, sight seeing, and to visit the Grandparents of one friend who is a native, Japanese American. They all learned quite quickly to NEVER mention America, even as the Japanese are incredibly polite and did all they could not to SHOW their disdain for America. However, the immediate, tiny, giveaway reactions couldn't be completely hidden when encountering native Japanese and other travelers. They got it right away and never mentioned it again, implying they were Canadian if they couldn't ignore polite inquiries from others.

So, take that for what little it is worth and ask others for their experiences to decide. If you still go, ENJOY! Just don't mention where you're from, just in case.
