Why even have elections? Posted by Skye on July 20, 2025, 7:08 pm Valued Poster In Missouri, Republicans are blatantly disregarding the voters' wishes. Last November, MO voters passed Amendment 3 enshrining abortion rights in the state's constitution, but Republicans in the legislature have put forward an amendment to ban abortion again. Voters also approved Prop A which would raise the minimum wage and mandate paid sick leave, but again, the legislature later repealed the paid sick leave provision and made changes to the minimum wage, removing the inflation adjustment. And they say they have a mandate???

I'm sure people are pushing back, though. The vote on the abortion issue was I think 52-48... so now they want to raise the threshold for changing something like that. The bastards.

Valued Poster We are in the early stages of a one-party system, and the elections next year must no be in doubt - not to mention '28. And that would incite a rebellion, I believe. -greenman
