No need for a flanger since I had the room to guess because I'd already eliminated the R & T leaving only the B & C to guess.* OR If I'd chosen BOUND, which is what I'd meant to say I was teetering between with DOUGH (and not HOUND), and it was wrong but the _OUND was right, my line 4 would have been the flanger WHARF to rule in or out the W, H, or F, leaving only MOUND if none were right. So either a win on line 3, 4, or 5. (NOTE: the _OUND has 8 possible answers but RAISE & POUTY eliminated the R, P, & S) *Additionally, my plan was also that if DOUGH came up shy on line 3 and it was NOT _OUGH at all, then it was most certainly _OUND. Then the same flanger WHARF would tell me the right answer by line 4 and I'd get it in 5. That's assuming that the H didn't pop in guessing DOUGH, because it if had, then HOUND was the right answer without the need for a flanger at all. So, sometimes I don't go strictly on impulse, but plan it out and THEN go with whatever "feels right", knowing I have an escape route if it bombs. THAT is how I've managed to have a perfect score of 1321 games without a single loss. I know the day will come eventually that I won't get it in 6 and I'll be sad for a bit, but it won't last. Just doing a little bragging there. LOL and adding my 2 cents worth regarding my method since SKYE kindly shared hers below in this thread. Truth is, I kinda need a lift today is all. Lotsa stupid medical crap going on right now with 2 new infections and multiple abnormal test results in pre-surgery testing for another major fusion surgery coming next week Tuesday. If the blood test results and infections don't clear beforehand, there will be another damn delay and i just cant stand this degree of pain much longer! They are letting severe anemia pass, but not the rest of the bad results. They (and I) don't want a repeat of the complications from a previous surgery where I almost didnt survive it. I have to stop several of my meds, including 2 of my immunosuopressants, for a week ahead, so it's only gonna get MORE painful this week not being able to take them to control the RA & Crohn's along with some of my routine pain meds that I really need to be comfortable. So please forgive me if I am a crank-box now and again.

(Junior Industrial Engineer). So I timed workers using 4 stop watches simultaneously to capture the precise time it took a worker to do each movement in their little piece of the manufacturing of high end menswear. I essentially watched and timed them; revised methods where I saw wasted seconds in their process; and then weighted the time according to the established standards that an average trained worker should need to complete each movement in the process. (Ex: Pick up, fold seam together, place under needle, sew 3 inches, back stitch to set, remove from under needle, fold a certain way to set up for the next person's part, lay back on garments truck, and take the next piece. Very boring stuff) I hated having to "rate" people's performances according to how fast or slow they were going. Nearly everyone tried to trick me into believing they were working at average capacity in the hopes that I'd give them a higher, cherry rate that they could make a bundle on. Most would deliberately slow down. A few sped up out of nervousness and I had to recognize that so I didnt set the rate too low, forcing them to work at maximum capacity to earn a fair pay. I always added an automatic 20% "PF&D" to the rated time for "personal, fatigue, and delay" so they could eat, pee when necessary, and still be okay during the afternoon fatigue set in. I wasn't one of the monster engineers who didnt take those factors into account when setting the rates. Sooooo, in essence, I was trained to establish the "best methods" to accomplish every job without any unnecessary wasted time or trouble. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Wordle is JUST a game and I only attach minimal importance to games. So it's not unhealthy in spite of my OCD. Now it's just a challenge to NOT lose. LOL and I enjoy seeing how other people play. Pure curiosity, not competition. I am very interested in what makes people tick and therefore very attuned to their habits, interests, and patterns.

Hopefully you won't catch something over the holidays, if you are planning to be around other people. Congrats on your perfect wordle record! Probably not many people have a record like that!

It's not a strain, it's a challenge to figure out with as little wasted effort as possible. I don't especially care about wordle itself. After all, it is just a game. But I do enjoy the challenge of beating it and having done so for more than 3 1/2 years! As I've said multiple times before, I wish I'd lost at least one game early on so I wouldn't feel bad now when I finally do lose.

" LATER NOISY COUGH DOUGH As I said before, if I don't get a hit on the first word, I will usually use NOISY for the second. So when I only got the green O in the second position on the second word, I know there is still the U that hasn't been used. So I'm thinking it could be a -OUCH word or a -OUGH word, so why not use the OU along with the C and the G to cover the bases better? So then it could have been DOUGH or BOUGH, but at least I'm not going to run out of room.
