So... Russia, China, Iran and North Korea it seems have formed an alliance. Not because they have much in common except that they are authoritarian and anti Pax Americana. Russia has been getting missiles from N Korea, drones from Iran, and technology from China, while selling oil to China to fund their war efforts. But now it looks like Iran is going to fall. And Finland and Sweden recently joined NATO, so that also puts a kink in their plans. Russia, China and Iran were also invested in Venezuela and their oil reserves.
So... it would seem to make sense to overthrow Maduro, IF you can replace him with a democratic leader who will be accepted, AND IF you do what is right by the Venezuelan people with the oil proceeds.
Unfortunately, I have no confidence in Trump to do what is right by anyone, especially with his crazy rantings about taking the oil, taking Greenland, insisting on his crazy tariffs, and his own authoritarian designs, etc, etc. That's why Putin wanted him in there, because he is totally inept and clueless, and can be played so easily.

Felon's action against Venezuela fits with his policy of retribution and revenge.
The accusation was Venezuela, through Hugo Chavez, produced a software that made Dominion voting machines switch votes from trump to Biden. That's how Biden "stole" the election.
Fox carried it, reported it, was sued and lost. Felon accomplices and lawyers who promoted the conspiracy theory were sued, and cases are still pending.
Venezuela isn't about drugs, fentanyl, or oil. The regime change is to remove the government and leadership that helped Biden steal the 2020 election.
I believe felon is counting on a sufficient population of Americans NOT remembering this. You can look away from a painting, but you can't listen away from a symphony
Chavez was supposed to have used rigged machines to win an election down there a few years earlier; the same trick was supposedly used by Biden in 2020.
about trump’s motives. Of course others may have different motives, and perhaps foolishly think that they can manage or control dt in the process of what they hope to achieve. In any case, I don’t think the oil companies are too eager to invest in such an adventure after already having failed attempts before, AND they probably don’t have a lot of confidence in dt or his promises of protection or profits for their trouble this time, either. After all, what sane person would have confidence in dt’s word, ability or motivations?

..comments suggesting that Venezuelan oil as a heavy crude lacks top value in the oil market at a time of low prices. Don’t know if that’s true.
Tricky Don DID meet with oil company execs the other day, FWIW. He evidently wandered away from them while they were talking, and gazed out the window at the site of his future golden ballroom and McDonald’s Drive-thru location.. RESIST!
