Some may say that this attack on Iran is perhaps the right thing for the wrong reasons. It’s an attack on a brutal regime and sponsor of terrorism in other countries as well as its own. But the hypocrisy and motives, especially by a lawless and apparently unaccountable US president, who also apparently aspires to be a brutal dictator and aggressor, is astounding. But then some may say that trump is the only one who could get away with these illegal actions that needed to be done to bring down a brutal, unjust and terrorist regime.
The real problem seems to be with the widespread cultural beliefs and traditions of monotheism, which promotes belief in ‘one God’ with a ‘might makes right’ theology, which is the antithesis of law and order, justice, and a civilized society and world.
The irony is that the US… the purported leader and defender of freedom, democracy and justice… installed the Shah in Iran many years ago in what was previously a democratic country… which has led to this moment. And why did we do that? To protect western oil interests, and concern over Iran potentially aligning with the Soviet Union.
Backing Zionism was a big mistake, just as propping up the Shah in Iran in 1953 was a big mistake... just as mixing religion with politics in the US is a big mistake.

problems began.
We arbitrarily drew boundaries that split former groups up and shoved enemies into one country, expecting it to succeed. Example: Iraq. We sliced the Kurds, Sunni, and Shiite apart and stuffed pieces of each into Iraq. No wonder they could never get along.
We did similar all over the Middle East, including creating Israel by taking land from the people who'd farmed it for centuries.
but it could have been purposeful... to keep people at odds with each other while we skimmed the oil?
Our founders were very wise to create the separation between church and state. Religion and politics does not make good bedfellows, at least not in a freedom loving democracy. Oligarchy does not bode well for democracy, either.
The Jewish people also "looked the same" as others in the region, but they were not the same religion or culture... just as Catholics and Protestants were not the same. There was a long history of religious wars that many were well aware of.
But they simply didn't care.
