The social sciences are just the low hanging fruit so to speak. You can no longer trust the science or scientists when their methods are polluted. Excerpted from the article: Falsifiability and Research Ethics Karl Popper articulated that, for work to be considered science, it must be falsifiable. By this, Popper meant that a theory is scientific if, in principle, it can be shown to be false by evidence. Work that does not meet this fundamental criterion is merely pseudoscience. As evident from the rigged academic work cited above, human research that is informed by critical theory often is not falsifiable. It is pseudoscience, and activist academics indirectly admit this when they reveal their critical “lenses” in their papers. These lenses prevent activist academics from considering alternative interpretations of their data. In the study of white adolescents, the activist academics knew from the start that they would portray the white adolescents negatively. If the adolescents did not make racist remarks, then the activist academics would conclude that the adolescents had exhibited “white ignorance.” If the adolescents did make racist comments, then the activist academics would say that the adolescents showed direct evidence of racism. In other words: Heads, I win; tails, you lose! Moreover, because such work is not genuine research, there is no reason to conduct it in the first place. Thus, these “studies” disrespectfully waste participants’ time and expose participants to an unnecessarily increased risk of harm.

" Valued Poster I think a published study based on less than 100 cherry picked subjects is essentially worthless. Why are we talking about it? However The premise or topic of interest may be worth considering in a more comprehensive light. How that happens will definitely be argued. BS should be called out in every form. Academia would welcome questioning. Authority needs it especially for accountability. True oversight doesn't happen within an organization, corporation, or government branch. A Jack of all trades is master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one. ... And many thanks for the masters in skill for setting our standard of work to instill.

Anything that relies on humans responding to questionnaires is inherently not "science" but there are ways to conduct those studies using considerable more subjects and individuals without obvious agendas. I've seen several. I've also seen the garbage kind. With enough participants, well written questions that aren't subject to preconceived beliefs, and critical reviews of the studies' conclusions, it is entirely possible to end up with reasonable, decently falsifiable conclusions. Not as solid as firm data without subjectivity, but reasonable conclusions that anyone else using the same standards could replicate.

Simply agreeing to disagree after one's attempts at persuasion are rebuffed is the better part of valor and the best way to show respect for the other, no matter how dumb one sees their argument. His stupidity and out of control ego was on full display during the daily broadcasts he took over to feed it. This virus turned out to be closer to the 1918 pandemic than any version of a simple flu. In the beginning, they advised people to stay home rather than venture out to conduct their usual lives. Masks were at a premium and reserved for medical personnel trying to save people. Production was ramped up to provide them for everyone as soon as possible. The masks that were considered useless were those made of simple cloth that couldn't stop the tiny droplets. The 6 foot separations made sense when people wore masks because the masks could stop most of the transfer of the virus by blocking its ability to travel that far. That people constantly ignored the advice was on them! As a result, government had to FORCE people to comply. Shutting things down was all they could do when people refused to stop going everywhere and spreading it. If everything had been shut down for one entire month instead of half-@ssed closures for 2 weeks, the virus could have never spread so far and become wild. Plus, dont forget that it morphed within people and constantly changed! I could go on, but why bother? Your mind is made up. It just annoyed me no end that you actually tossed that nonsense out.

You may recall: Masks are not effective. Masks are highly effective. You won't get the virus once you are vaccinated. The virus is stopped from spreading once you get the vaccination. A distance of 6 feet was essentially pulled out of thin air. The virus coming from a China lab is a conspiracy theory. The virus most likely came from the Chinese lab.

Masks were an early attack point for Righties who a) didn’t want to wear them, and b) used them to identify one’s politics. They were always effective (depending on type) for reduction of spread of COVID. Vaccination did greatly reduce the spread. I know this personally, having repeatedly been vaccinated but never gotten the disease. I don’t know if any absolute link between a Chinese lab and spread of COVID. That was the basis of many conspiracies, of course. The virus appeared in people linked to the market in Wuhan, though. And so on. Including Trump’s dumb ideas and wacky ‘cures.’ SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR!
