As usual, two sets of rules for politicians. Republicans get away with everything, Democrats self-immolate the moment one of their identity groups makes an accusation or is offended. Al Franken all over again.
Swalwell has been accused of sexual something by some woman, so he’s guilty and the party is already calling for his removal from the Governor’s race (and the Party?).
Trump has raped one woman, been accused of assault by many others, and is credibly linked with underage sex though Epstein, but there are NO consequences. Because he hasn’t been convicted of anything. That is the standard for Repubs. Not internet rumors (although in Trump’s case there is considerably more).
This is American politics, and why Democrats can’t win. They play by the Girls’ Rules. Repubs play by the Men’s Rules.
Maybe that upsets some people, but Fascism upsets ME.
there's proof that he contacted the women who've accused him of sexual assault. He may not have assaulted them, IDK, but congress has a written rule about sex with underlings so he had to resign
This is a level beyond Al Franken. Franken didn't deny the photo that led to his resignation. He acknowledged the questioning of the 'joke'. Oftentimes his questioning showed the world the 'joke' maga was. IMO he should have never resigned. It was also shown that his 'accuser' was a a hypocrite with her performative joking on the entertainment tour.
There is no real moral compass guiding any political party. EVER.
Swallwell needs accountability like everyone regardless of party in the age of performative politics. I doubt the accusers are maga.A Jack of all trades is master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.
... And many thanks for the masters in skill for setting our standard of work to instill.
Well, there are 4 credible accusations. That doesn't mean he's guilty and
it COULD be an opponent in the governor's race trying to knock him out of the competition, but it really does look bad for him to keep running at this point.
I think he should keep his current house seat until and unless those accusations get some actual PROOF and halt his campaign for Governor since it won't be resolved before the election.

As of April 2026, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is facing serious allegations of sexual assault and misconduct from multiple women, which have upended his campaign for Governor of California, triggered a criminal investigation, and led to calls for his resignation from Congress.
Key Allegations and Developments (April 2026)
Sexual Assault Accusation:
A former staffer alleged that Swalwell sexually assaulted her twice, including an incident in April 2024 in New York City where she claims she was heavily intoxicated and that he continued, despite her saying "no". She reported waking up with physical signs of sexual assault, such as bruises and bleeding, and provided text messages to the San Francisco Chronicle to support her account.
Multiple Accusers:
A CNN report published in April 2026 included allegations from three other women—totaling four accusers—who described a pattern of inappropriate behavior, including the sending of unsolicited sexual messages and photos on Snapchat.
Criminal Investigation:
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office opened a criminal investigation into the sexual assault allegation that reportedly occurred in New York.
Political Fallout:
Following the reports, top Democratic leaders in the House, including Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, and Pete Aguilar, called on Swalwell to end his gubernatorial campaign. Several members of his campaign staff resigned, and key endorsements were withdrawn.
Calls for Resignation:
Some political opponents, including former Rep. Katie Porter, have called on Swalwell to resign from his House seat, and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced plans to force a House vote to expel him. Response from Swalwell
Swalwell has vehemently denied all accusations, calling them "flat out false" and a "coordinated effort" by political opponents to sabotage his gubernatorial run.
He apologized to his wife in a public video statement for "mistakes in judgment in my past," while maintaining his innocence regarding the criminal allegations.
His attorney, Elias Dabaie, stated they would fight the allegations and threatened legal action against the accusers.
I don’t want to take the absolute ‘no’ position. If he’s guilty, that’s it for him politically.
I think Dems are so anxious about losing Prog votes that they pile on these things WAAAAY too fast. What’s the hurry? Can’t we have some moderate reactions, some ‘if-thens,’ some calls for reason? SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
Perhaps some of them know more than we do? Perhaps they are just

too wound up over not allowing a whiff of scandal in the DEM party to fester?
IDK? However, I do know that disavowing a fellow member based only on unproven claims is not fair nor right. If he's guilty, boot him. But give him a chance already! Accusations are easy. Proof is harder.
I would rather that the world play by “women’s rules” … because by your description, “men’s rules” are not really rules at all, but ARE fascism, which is ‘might makes right’… just take what you want, and beat down whoever you want type of “rules.” We can’t afford to live in this type of ‘man’s world’ with ‘men’s rules’ in this nuclear age… or any age that desires justice and civilized existence.
i tend to disagree.

Politics is a tough game. Repubs are playing hard and winning. Dems are soft and losing. Dems don’t have any power in Washington now, and we all see where that’s gotten them. On the outside, looking in at Trump p!sing on the furniture.
The alternative isn’t limpness or fascism. What we need is toughness and two-fisted politics.
You don’t have to BE Trump to fight Trump. But if you jump to tear your own party down while doing nothing against theirs, you lose.
Every single person who’s jerking the knee against Swalwell is aiding Trump, at least at present. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
Being soft on crime…

is not a winning strategy, IMO, unless lawlessness is what you are trying to win. We’ve seen way too much of that from trumpers, and it’s not making the country stronger or better. Quite the opposite, IMO.
Sure, if crime has been committed.

I don’t trust the internet to tell me that. SAY ‘NO’ TO WAR! RESIST!
I thought he was Mr. Clean. Unless there's more than an accusation
