...hate it when the AC fails but I have a little $150 window unit that will cool a room if needed.

Our unit is 14 years old and when it breaks it is going to cost big. The unit in our lake house is much older. The unit in our rental unit died just before Thanksgiving last year when the renter - an 80+ year old lady - really needed the heat. Amazingly, the installers showed up on Thanksgiving morning to get the unit in and did not charge extra.
