Personally, I think it would be an excellent move (for all states who are in hurricane territory) for builders to automatically add in whole-house generators as a necessary part of the house plan so that the costs could be worked into the mortgage rather than being a one-time emergency expense for the homeowner for a mediocre one that still cost at least a couple or three thousand out-of-pocket.
