...and I have one who looks just like that.

Right now we have a female outside our cat fence that my wife is trying to entice in so we can get her fixed. We have one of her kittens inside.

Leo Mac, one of my cats, still has some feral tendencies, even after 4 years.

it. You're handling it correctly. It has to know that it can trust you and that requires patience non-aggression on your part, but you obviously know that. Do you know yet if it is a male or female? Even if you don't, you can give it a neutral name, so that there will be that bit of relatability between you.

I am speculating, if this is not a feral cat and is a cat someone loves, then I don't want to succeed. I'm praying for guidance. So far, it's all questions. And a picture.

That reminds me of the saying: "You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't." IMO, if the cat belonged to someone, a family or individual, and somehow got lost or was dumped and abandoned, it would not be skittish with you, it would be seeking food and shelter. The exception to that is unless it had been abused. In that case, success should be the only option.

I tread my waters lightly and with reality

I feel a cat that feeds regularly with me is not loved by a family.

I want to give that mistakenly conclusion time if it should be.
