Here's a picture taken from my mother's (RIP) bedroom window of our backyard and pond where the Canadian Geese I've occasionally posted about, Fred and Ethel, would show up every spring and hang out on the pond., entertaining me. The yard actually slopes right down into the pond and they'd eat/feed there and would sometimes come on up close to the house. We were surrounded by woods and lots of wildlife, including tortoises. Good memories.

Here's a picture of the front yard. I planted two Drake Elms close enough together to form an arch and to offer shade to the front porch. Those things grew like wildfire...I took very good care of the., fertizing and watering as instructed, even in the blasted heat.

Sometimes I get nostalgic but, unless it's to the extreme, I think that's pretty normal. I loved our yard and loved working in it. I took pride in it, just like you do with your garden.
