If I started them last time in boiling water, I did it wrong. If this way works I have 2 ways to do them.

My old method was to always allow the eggs to come...

...down to room temp first. (you know? A Dem's IQ)

Then put them in salted water and bring it to a boil with the eggs in it. Then after it comes to a boil, shut off the heat and tight cover it for 10 or so minutes.

Ice Chill them and peel while warm.

My NEW method is my Dash Egg Cooker. Hardboils them perfectly and it also makes a great egg for McMuffins or McBagels. (of which I just finished one for breakfast)

I'm also making full use of my new mini Aroma Rice Cooker/Steamer. Perfect for One!😋

The reason you put your COLD eggs into BOILING water is so that it makes for an easy peel.

Have you tried duck eggs in it? Sounds like everything is working out for you so far.

They have a much thicker shell. You break them by tapping them hard on their side, not the ends.

So, I probably need to invest in a rice cooker then...it's well worth it? I've been waiting for your review. I do cook rice pretty often. I'm assuming Aroma is the brand name?

Thanks. I just checked and the Walmart Super Center here has that exact one in stock. I'll just go there to get mine so I can avoid all the nightmare delivery issues you and others have.

The little 4 cup dude works perfect for me.

I've used it twice to cook yellow rice and steam a tamale at the same time, but I think I'll cut the rice in half next time. 2 cups cooked is a lot of rice for one.
