It's not you, JS. You obviously know what you're doing when it comes to vegetable gardening. That has been proven, hands down, by the pictures of the beautiful variety of vegetables from your garden you have posted here throughout several years.

I believe you have many corn growing challenges from living in the desert region of our country that most other regions don't have. No matter how diligent and attentive you are, there are just too many negative desert weather variables getting in your way. The research I've done on your corn dilemma confirms this. Your 'green thumb' is something to be proud of...screw the corn growing.

I mixed it with chopped cucumber and a raspberry walnut vinaigrette.

My side dish was a whole chicken I chopped up. I also chopped the breasts in half.

I'm good for a couple of days.
I told you this was coming.

Thanks. This has been a bad year. I think after decades of constant growing my soil has been depleted of micronutrients no matter how much I try to resupply them. I have decided to forego a winter garden for the sake of reconditioning all of my raised areas and grow bags of soil. The upper area seems to be holding well. I might do a cabbage or two.

I'll grow spinach and lettuce inside to keep me happy.

That sounds like a very good plan...get a completely fresh start with good soil and fresh nutrients. It will still require that outdoor sun time you really enjoy + you have a nice supply of your garden to table goodies - a.k.a. "the fruits of your labor" - in your pantry/storage space just waiting for you to enjoy.

Dang that looks delicious. How was the chicken fry mix? Flavorful? Looks perfect on the chicken. Nice plating.
