Some of the Revenge we can keep 'as is', though all work is rendered more difficult due to her location, including removing old and redundant items.
But self evidently we cannot get to the rudder or prop or the underwater parts of her hull. We have been on the river for some years and one day the Insurers will not renew. We need a dry dock and a fortune.
Presently we have around £45.500 and I can see that being £48.500 by early Jan 2023.
As an example of outside funding in the past we have:
Fire Boat Massey Shaw Eighty Thousand.
Paddle Steamer Medway Queen One Million.
Restaurant ship Queen Mary Three Million.
Paddle Steamer Waverley Seven Million.
The little Ross Tiger may well end up hauled on land for permanent display. Arctic Corsair will be in a closed dry dock forever, like Cutty Sark and they have been funded by the Lottery and local Council.
We have a lot of applying and justifying to do ( while continuing to expand the radio station ) but the more we raise in house to show our own efforts, the more favourably our applications will be viewed.
PM.
Do you really think, the Ross will be fully repaired & restored at some point in the future, Peter?
Or is it just the case, she will be maintained only as she is now. ?
Or is it the "Great unknown" ?
