I can remember that same year or early 68 going into a Scarborough record shop and hearing the first two or three tracks on Tim Buckley's Goodbye and Hello album in a record booth and then deciding to buy it, as was expected if you'd heard more than the first track. I'd have chosen the superb I Never Asked to Be Your Mountain which ended side 1 as my long track if I was doing the playlist though. Bought all the early Steve Miller Band albums as well which have been forgotten about ever since The Joker sold well as a single.
Like the way several tracks by the same artist were played back to back. May well have heard that broadcast as was a regular listener.
The Radio Geronimo website has the 15 minute documentary on them which won a couple of awards at the Monaco Film Festival as well as lots of other memorabilia.

I uninstalled Real Player a few years ago as it was unreliable, popping up adverts all the time etc etc. Unistalling it was difficult too. Checking online others were having the same problems with even though, like me, they'd downloaded it directly from their website. So none of the streaming audio now plays for me. I can play some Real Media files on VLC.
There are several Radio Geronimo and related recordings for streaming/download on Internet Archive with information on the recordings given for each one including lengthy ones from the Geronimo website.

Chris Bent who is on the documentary and who is the sites webmaster is a presenter on Radio Seagull.
Interesting Ian and a station that caused quite a stir As far as I can tell.
I was 9 years old and more into football than music at that time.
I think the music played on Geronimo would have gone way over my head, as it did some three years later when Barry and Hugh were on Radio Seagull.
My tastes did mature as I got older (I think!)
There were three sets of tapes broadcast on Radio Andorra. Those were as Radio 428 on 15 November 1969, repeated on 16 November 1969, as Radio Rupert on 23 November 1969, repeated on 26 November 1969, and as Radio Rupert 428 on 7 December 1969.
One set of tapes were broadcast on Radio Monte Carlo as Radio 205 on 7 January 1970.
Soon after that we agreed on the name Radio Geronimo.
If you were around 53 years ago today, 14 February 1970, something was about to happen just after midnight...
