When the ship was in Cairnryan one Captain Silas Oates may have owned her, or more to the point the Bank who loaned him the money owned her. Silas had ambitions to make money out of marine salvage, hence the huge slabs of metal on the bow. He tried to get a contract to remove the bronze propellers from Ark Royal, but presumably failed and as the Bank did not get their payments, they claimed the ship back.
Then Northfleet Enterprises bought her from the Bank. No doubt a company that Ronan dreamed up for the purpose.
In Dover in 1992, a ship called The Cornishman anchored out to sea and Silas arrived on Revenge saying that it was his ship.
Twenty five years on after the Admiralty Court awarded the ship to me in law, our Solicitors were contacted by Mr Oates Jnr again bleating that the ship was his.

Are you aware Peter, of someone who claims to be Garry Oats, Son of the original Ross Revenge Owner Silas Oats, claims the ship is actually his on this Facebook Forum:
