Just had another try at around 13.30 and was able to pick it up in the back garden on an almost 40 year old Sony radio/cassette player which is very good for picking up weak radio signals - which adequately describes the state of the current 1206 am one!
With the volume turned fully up it was just about listenable, but wouldn't even go as far as to describe it as "Anorak Quality" as it fell well short of of even that benchmark. Can't receive it in the house at all.
Broadcasting from a 1998 ex Stagecoach Manchester South Volvo Olympian bus hardly fits in with the Pirate Radio theme either.....
