The test transmissions in 1977 into 1978 were made on 773 khz and later 1610. One of the ex Veronica 10 kw Continental Electronics units was used for this.

Robin did state in correspondence that the big RCA rig was used on 1233 in early 1980 when relations between Libya and Malta soured. According to Robin, the ship was moved west of Tripoli to Zuwara and used to substitute for the cessation of the Malta transmissions. However, I can find no record of these transmissions being logged.

I believe the RCA rig was fired up when the ship first arrived in Tripoli harbour (causing interference to all around) but unsure whether it was ever used after that.
