Smooth on 603 in Kent, gets out very well, even here in East Anglia - good for just a 700watt TX.

These should have closed over 20 years ago. Well overdue. They were only supposed to fill areas where Longwave reception might be poor in towns and cities. FM and digital radio has filled these areas for many decades. It says by the 15th of April so they will be popping off as engineers go around shutting down sites individually up to that date.
No further news on the last handful of 'Smooth radio' Medium wave frequencies which are also expected to be switched off in April.
