Agreed, all areas have FM repeaters for the Radio 4 network, for many a long year. There was at one time a crazy rush to use the whole MW band for local stations... Most other countries had discovered the benefits of FM by this time.

Question for another anorak. Is that your own speculation about smooth???? Or have you a source link ??
