The CSI transmitters were presumably removed sometime when the ship was used in the Netherlands to be used for Holland FM 1224 which used a newer single lower powered rig
Thats not correct. the CSI units were modified by Jose Gronigen in Portugal in 1989 to transmit two different t stations from the ship 9as well as one on Short Wave, for the underground Church). When she arrived in IJmuiden, Nozema installed a brand new Harris DX - the only DX-60 I ever saw actually. At 60 kilowatts, this was the most power ever transmitted from the good ship percolator. That unit was removed by Nozema around 2002 when the last Dutch licensee failed to pay the rental bill for it.
. . . while the ship was laid up, one of the transmitters had a burned out inductor caused by an attempt at running too much power while running into a temporary short antenna . . . . during it's short lived Laser Hot Hits 576 days.
I mentioned earlier that the CSI's didnt like loads with a lot of reactance, and especially when it was windy fluctuating. The reactor (in the modulator) was perhaps under-rated and gave up three times that I'm aware of. The CSIs needed careful setting up and handling.
Turning to Ian Anderson's question - yes, the full designation was T-25-A.
with T for Transmitter (CSI made other items, not just transmitters)
The A suffix was for AM, and F was for FM.
CSI ws a family-run company. Bernie and his wife had worked at CCA, another small transmitter company run by Bernie Wise. The CCA gang were all ex RCA and Gates engineers. CSI and CCA fought like cat and dog over designs and patents in the 70s and 80s, along with a company called SIntronics that Bernie later bought. Sintonics supplied two transmitters to Voice of Hope in Lebanon, that broadcast into Israel in those days. The Ministry's KVOH is still on air (engineered by a well known Caroline voice!) and now has a 50kW AM unit broadcasting from Israel into Syria!
