C'mon Freddie, You need to understand how these tv news crews and programnne makers operate. They are all exactly the same and start from the assumption that people will go thrugh hoops just to be in front of a TV camera. So they start but being hugely complimentary to the potential contributor until they are on the hook. Then they say that the contributor will actually only get one quarter of an hours programme, less opening and closing credits, introductions and adverts. Then you have to sign so as to acknowledge that you have no control over what is filmed or what happens during editing. So finally after the distance shots and drone shots and archive footage, the interviewee in this case Nigel, may have at best five to eight minutes to get their point across. You have to accept all of that or just decline to be involved, which I have at times done. So if Nigel had started a monologue along the lines of ' Well the ship was raided but this may have been since a man called Peter Chicago put the SW on a distress frequency and/or that a man called Ronan O Rahilly did not keep the registration fees up to date. But anyway, the Dutch came out and the English came out and probably neither had any jurisdiction in International Waters, but Peter got punched and there were a lot of them and guess what the Dutch were drinking beer and they took all the goods away but then guess what they later gave all the goods back'. Do you seriously think that would have ended up in the final edit. So in closing I think that Nigel did very well and as for the film crew, the second they have the footage in the camera, you cease to exist in their eyes as they have what they want. To put it in an earthy way ' they would not piss on you if you were on fire'. PM. ![]() Yes, it was quite good - pity they did not mention that the UK Home office - was aiding & abbeting, drunken Dutch Piracy & Vandalism - because that is the reality of what happened. I think that actions of the Dutch, returning eventually what had been removed - speaks volumes. ![]() Just watched the recording, I thought it was quite good but could have included more facts such as what is happening now and the charity restoration etc. Here is the link to watch again - https://uktvplay.co.uk/shows/abandoned-engineering/series-13/episode-1/6353738836112 ![]() Many thanks for the tip off Mike Will set the Virgin box to record it. I would like to thank you again for all your interesting posts on this forum, well done ![]() Radio Carolinw Facebook this evening Ross Revenge will be featured in an episode of Abandoned Engineering called ‘Pirates of The North Sea’ on Monday 10 June at 8 pm on the Yesterday tv channel.
