Manx at various points in their history did half-heartedly toy with the idea of targeting listeners outside the Island although it was never seriously pursued.

It is a bit odd that they've waited until now to pursue the idea of an AM gold service (at a time when broadcasters around the UK are abandoning the concept). A music driven service "with fewer speech requirements" sounds like a good idea anywhere though.
