Great Chap - He recorded the Mi Amigo's last night . RIP Bill.
Only met Bill once at one of the Amsterdam Radio Days, as Ian says very friendly, told me lots of stories about his work as a link man for Caroline. Would have chatted longer but a panel I wanted to listen to was starting in the main room. R.I.P.
I only met Bill a couple of times over the years, but was a nice, friendly guy. Think I was last in touch with him when he was part of the group doing amateur radio from the Ross.
Did loads for Caroline over the years.
RIP Bill.
More sad news to report, with news of the passing of Radio Caroline Flashback presenter Bill Rollins.
Beginning his offshore radio career on Tower Radio & TV on Sunk Head Fort in 1965, he later worked for East Anglian Productions, and was a Radio Caroline 'link man' on shore during the 1980's, supplying the 'Lotto 649' results to the Ross Revenge, while his voice could often be heard on tape in between the 'Viewpoint 963' programmes.
Bill kindly came and supported some of our events since 2014, and was always willing to share his knowledge and any items that he thought would be of interest to us. His health had been poor for sometime, and we appreciated the effort he made to join us in 2022 at Martello 'P' Tower.
He will be sadly missed by many people in the offshore radio world.
