. I have been to the Ledbury boxing day hunt where they set out. The horses are very well prepared.
Oh for the days of a hammer on the end of a long wire, & trying to aim at a fork in the tree - Missing & watching out for where the hammer came down! Yes, I had all that in the early 1980s in the nearby forest. During one of the transmissions, 3 deer came grazing nearby - a lovely sight. The deer must struggle for quiet spots in the forest, it seems full of Dog walkers (who don't pick up the dog muck) & cyclists from the cities these days. Previous Message
Freddie yes I do take your point. Sadly they lie about trail hunting to avoid the law. These upper class twits on horseback really are still hunting foxes.
I'd much rather have been putting long wire aerials up in trees on those fields just to bring it back on topic. Previous Message
I'm afraid it's all aspects of nature, Steve.
Foxes will rip apart a pen full of Chickens, given the chance.
I guess we are all animals. Look what a Lion will do to a Deer.
It's trail hunts these days, no foxes involved they say Previous Message
I also note that Mr Day has said he will be attending a boxing day hunt.
In younger and fitter times I was often to be found running around the countryside saving the lives of foxes as a hunt saboteur.
Casting no apersions about Rob of course (I know how litigious he can be!) but I've always thought that people who enjoy watching an animal being ripped apart by a pack of savage hounds have some sort of ugly mental sickness.
