I only knew Tom briefly so didn't get to sample his hospitality. I wish I'd known him back in '71 when I started out on my piratical journeys making crude self oscillating rigs on MW, I would certainly have welcomed his help. By the time I progressed to SW I was building 2 stage xtal controlled rigs, though I bought one from Ian Fisher in NW London made I believe by Jim Coad. Unfortunately the gippo took all my gear in early 73
