In the case of St André Island, they were cleary sold to Colombia by the Brits in 1822. So, politically part of Colombia, and historically tied to the United Kingdom.
Man, Jamaican slaves were not only transferred to St André and providence Islands but also transferred to Costa Rica back then,.. even in Costa Rica today you have a part of the Black population who is not Spanish, they are strictly English speakers and are descendants of Jamaicans. Poors Jamaican slaves, it seems they have been used as slaves in a few different Islands other than Jamaica, as well as in central America. Not fair!! Do you know how hard it is to be an english speaking slave and then out of the blue start dealing with a new massa who speaks spanish only. Thats exactly what happened to those poor Jamaican slaves. Anyway, never heard of Slaves from Mississippi being taken to work in Panama or Brazil. Happened only to Jamaican slaves. As if Kris didn't feel like going all the way to West Africa to replenish and bring in new fresh slaves. He had to use the ones he already brought in to Jamaica. Bastard!!
