What is shocking about Tom Segev's article is that he says something about the creation of Israel few people dare say; and when they do, they are banished, ostracized, called antisemitic etc..
Intellectuals like Naom Chomsky, Naomi Klein, Norman Finkelstein etc., have put forward that idea and they've paid the price.
Even Albert Einstein warned about Zionism becoming something very very evil, and now it has.
It's become obvious to most people that Zionism, in its own way, is the flip side of Nazism - they are of the same coin - and the fact that some of the founders of that idea espoused hardcore colonialist attitudes, says a lot.
For sure, slavery was not a mistake, it was a calculated evil, much like colonialism, apartheid etc.
Quick question: I noticed you left out the Holocaust among your list of mistakes. Don't you think it was also a "mistake"? Just curious.
