At that time conscious and uplifting music & lyrics was a big thing!
That was around the time Queen Latifah was Afrocentric as hell!
Then Hollywood & the music industry stepped in and Gangsta Rap was prioritized!
It's amazing to me how the industry changed someone like Queen Latifah to what she is right now--from Afrocentrism to milk toast & mayonnaise😔
