Ok, G, and I think I have already answered these questions for you some years ago, but if you wanna double check, I'll answer them again for you. I am a Gnawa of "brown skin" complexion, kinky hair with African facial features etc, and I consider myself African or North African only not Maghrebi nor Arab. As for converso, GnawaS are known for having adopted Islam not Christianity like the Jews of Sapin or Portugal who adopted Christianity.

Now may I ask you the same question Mr GM? Are you a dark-skin and do you identify as FBA(Foundational Black American) or Caribbean, St-Lucian only, or African, or converso? Converso because your ancestors could have been some enslaved African Muslims whose descendants adopted Christianity later on. As you know some African slaves during the atlantic slave trade were Muslims.

Also yes, I am well aware of the ancient Black presence in the Middle-east and Persia, but according to some historians expert on the region they say all the blacks there were pushed, beaten in the war and eventually enslaved by the invaders who came straight down from the Caucasus Mountains present day Azerbaijan, East Turkey, Armenia, Georgia etc...the White Arab is originally from that area(caucasus mountains). The same thing happened in India,...India was all Black skinned ppl before the caucasian invasion of the Indus valley.
