Yes, the media is very derisive about independent Black leaders, like Idi Amin. They did all they could to characterize Amin negatively in the Western media. Each of the 54 countries of Africa should be a state, actually.
I suppose that will eventually happen, though. It's a matter of African media beginning to frame the continent more wholistically.
I agree. No doubt, Western media are no friends of Black leaders, especially Black revolutionary leaders. But they are treated with no more hate than their White or Latino revolutionary counterparts. The US has had no tolerance for Castro, Allende, and Che. In fact, like the great African leaders Sankara and Lumumba, Che and Allende were murdered, too. One added point I would like to make: Unlike Sankara and Lumumba, Idi Amin did some heinous things and deserved condemnation.
