Emmanouil Karalis is without a doubt the 1st Black to Pole Vault Over 6 Metres (two vids)

And he's Afro-Greek, born and raised in Chania, Greece. He done it twice, in 2024 and early 2025. Hmmm, interesting, coz I don't remember seeing any athletes of African descent doing well in this section of Athleticism known as "Pole Vault", except in the 2000 olympic games of Sydney where Lawrence Johnson(An African American) competed but his best jump was 5,98 meters. I believe Karalis kinda made some history here. Dude jumped over 6 meters.

Nice to see that more Blacks across the diaspora have firmly awoken to the Black cultural framing, TheOne. Muslim brothers in some countries, though, still seem to put their cultural framing secondary to the Islamic thrust.

How would you rate the diaspora understanding in Morocco and the Maghreb? Paperback invited a young lady from Tunisia on here, in her early twenties, once, who seemed to be evolving slowly into a Black diaspora consciousness.

I don’t think it was an issue that she wasn’t all in, but maybe the cultural tools were not easily available via her normative influences there.

Well, it depends, on a scale of 1 to 5, I would give Morocco and Algeria "2" each, but for Tunisia and Libya I would give "4" each.

Hmmm, I believe the mass media sets the tone, TheOne. So would I be correct in saying that the local media in Morocco and Algeria are more insular, more traditional in their approach to news than Tunisia and Libya?

Well, it depends, on a scale of 1 to 5, I would give Morocco and Algeria "2" each, but for Tunisia and Libya I would give "4" each.

People can be incredibly narrow-minded when it comes to the native Black ppl's state of affairs in Morocco and Algeria. In Tunisia however Blackness has recently reached their mainstream media and made its way through the Tunisian government. Blackness in Tunisia is discussed by major news outlets and popular local platforms.

This would be great PhD research for someone. A grand opportunity to scrutinize Arab culture, in relation to Black culture.

Hope someone does this, at some point.

Remembering Jamila Debbech Ksiksi Rest in peace sista(photo below and article). At some point Debbech and several other Black Tunisian(North Africans)activists have indeed examined very carefully the historical Arab-African relations which have been a complex tapestry of trade, cultural exchange, religious diffusion, and, unfortunately, also slavery and conflicts.

BTW, her death in a traffic accident on Tunisia's highway, an accident which also killed her sister, Amel Debbech is suspect.

Below is Khawla Ksiksi(Tunisian activist) I think she's the daughter or youngest sister of Jamila Debbech Ksiksi who died in the car accident in Tunisia's highway.
