In truth everything he said in this speech I'm very familiar with especially from the "17:42" minutes onward to the end. In fact everything he said about Somalia reminded me of my peeps in North Africa as well.
Les, you must watch this video because Ilhan Omar will never tell you what professor Omar Eno is exposing here. Professor Omar Eno is the director of the national Somali Bantu project.
There are other angles to be taken into consideration with what the Somali-Americans are going thru,
It could be that their financial success in Minneapolis caused some jealousy amongst the natives. Apparently all it took for that jealousy to be exposed and explode was a few Somali "fraudsters" in the twin cities to blame the complete 100.000 Somalis.
Still, I am truly disappointed with Trump-supporting Somali immigrants and how they feel betrayed as we speak. And by the same token I've got no respect(and never did) to D.T a so called president calling ppl "garbage" and that he wants them to leave his so called country,..he definitely crossed that line using his presidency as a weapon. He doesn't know what it means to make decisions from the white house, and ppl don't fully understand the weight that comes with that responsibility. Coz when you sit behind that desk in the oval office every word that you speak carries the weight of the entire federal govnment behind it.
And yes, I'm not surprised to find out that "some"(of course there is always "some" which could be many) Somalians in America think black Americans are garbage. Thats why I've pointed out yesterday that the oppressed will NEVER GET IT!!
Needless to say there is indeed an "Arab Supremacy" attitude playing in the Somali psyche. And what even more disturbing is that all the non-white immigrants in America whether they are Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, or non-believers, whether they are Caribbeans, Africans, Arabs, Latinos or Asians they all look down on AAs and praise White Americans at the same time which I found very strange. To them AAs are unworthy of respect and this is outrageous!!! However AAs should not get it twisted, they are garbage too in Trump's eyes, dude couldn't help but erase Black history and fired as many AAs as possible from their glorious positions and send in federal troops to every Chocolate inner city etc etc...

With all these freaking hollywood movies about Russia being the bad guy and China being mysterious and going to South America is like going to the jungle and you have to worry about cartels and stuff like that, and all these negative stereotype movies about Africa and movies about Arab countries being warzone countries. If you had never portrayed yourself Mr American Kris as the place of beacons and lights and hope and place of opportunity, kinda like you can come with 3 dollars and then bam you can be a 3.5 billionaire,... its your fault kris for agreeing/tolerating hollywood to make you and your country look like that, so of course the immigrants/migrants or anyone coming from a miserable place would wanna blend in and go to America.

Self hatred is an all too familiar consequence of racism and colonialism. Somalians are no different than anyone else.
My best friend is married to a Mexican woman, and last week i met her beautiful sister and her husband. They live in an up scale suburb. He changed his Polish last name to Shannon and when she goes to suburban events and meets people, she tells them she is Italian, not Mexican. It's sad.
I ask myself, as a political organizer, how do i get folk to be proud of their heritage? Well, you don't do it by denigration. That never works.
The only way we have a chance of winning is to be unified.
We must all hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately.”
Sure it's sad that some Somalians think this way, and it is equally sad when Palestinians act similarly. But we don't throw that in their faces while they are victims of genocide and nativist's hostility. We stand with them!

A political organizer? Are you the White Fred Hampton, Sir? Are you serving as the chairman of the Milwaukee chapter and deputy chairman of the national Black panther party? LOL
I can perfectly understand that poor Mexican lady you have mentioned because those stereotypical depictions of Mexicans, especially those thought to be in the United States illegally, are harsh and demeaning. I know some AAs who tell ppl they are Caribbeans, not Black AMerican. Its just this stigma of belonging to a so called "undesirable" group of ppl. Also there are some Arabs who don't tell ppl that they are Arabs, they would instead say they are Spaniards or Portuguese. Yes, it is sad!!

Sure, that's the only way to bridge the divide. But FYI, I personally will have some difficulties to build a physical bridge to cross a gap with someone who calls me "Abeed". I might need to work very hard on this one. LOL()

I can only imagine what you have gone through, theone. I met and also hired a few Arabs while doing my artwork in the mall here in Milwaukee. I've dealt with holocaust deniers, extreme homophobes, misogynists, and virulent racists. So i know they are out there. But I also met some very loving and caring ones, too. As for my organizing, never had the honor of working alongside Black Panthers LOL! However, while in downtown Oakland, before leaving for Southeast Asia in 68, i ran into some Panthers handing out the paper. I swear I spoke with Bobby Seale. I recall saying that i was in the Air Force, and he said he served in the Air Force, too. He kept calling me, "my brother." Years later when he became more famous, i googled Bobby Seale wondering if that was he with whom i spoke. I found he did serve in the Air Force.

And if you have watched the video of the Somalian professor Omar Eno I've posted below yesterday you'd see that he elaborated on this Arab supremacy in Somalia. But the same experience exist in some other "parts" of Africa. Morocco is indeed one of these "parts".
