Black Pete was mostly a big deal in the Netherlands, Les. The Black Dutch/community in the Netherlands took it seriously, there was a long-standing cultural battle pitting tradition against anti-racism activist. We're talking about a good 15 years fight and the Dutch anti-blackface group declared victory.
As for the LLC information I've tried to diffuse it in Belgium and England with some folks I knew in times past but unfortunately they never posted anything.

FYI, it was only 3 of us posting on this board for years and way, way before the War/genocide on Gaza in 2023. I remember in 2019 already it was only 3 of us posting here. Let’s see: West Side, Morpheus, Debbie, Paper Sack, Eve, Rudy, J, Leo, Dan, I’m forgetting the sister’s name with the Atlanta Constitution, and a few others. I think part of it is that you guys write so well that the average poster, even if they do write well, can’t stand the spot-on scrutiny you all possess. GM, laid it out to my good friend Tarik Ansaar a week or two ago when Tarik apparently posted some AI infested info.

Not quite Les: folks are drifting away from sites like LLC because of the scope & increase in new venues for one-on-one & general exchanges..eg, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, other independent media, and new ones popping up all over the place.
The surprising thing about the LLC Board is its longevity! Do you realize how many Black sites have folded, sold out, or rearranged their formulas and menu to remain viable? Some of them have gone completely useless & trivial with mostly fluffy non-challenging entertainment stuff. Have you read TheRoot, TheGrio, Essence, Ebony, etc., lately? They are terrible, both in writing and substance. Plus, they no longer have comment sections because they're afraid their readers will offend their new corporate bosses, the Democratic party elites, and now their pro-Israel sponsors & owners - black folks are mostly pro-Palestinian.
No doubt there are readers to LLC who don't participate in exchanges, but generally that's the norm on most sites, including Black messageboards. The miracle is that the LLC Board is still alive, no matter its narrow traffic. I suspect i'll be the last one to turn off the lights, maybe with a sigh of relief from some. lol
And for the record: we never do "ad hominem attacks" here on LLC - we simply take each other to the woodshed with street-level language for clarity. Only Mr TheOne has ad hominem attacked me, calling me a 'christian marrano✡️ or converso christian✝️ or something...which really really hurt my feelings😆🤣😂
