Hotep, Oscar. Great to see your test post, here, bro.
Forumites, we've got the brother of one of my heroes, Chicago's very own Dr. Conrad Worrill posting.
Conrad was the director of Chicago's Black United Front, a group that helped to ensure Harold Washington was elected mayor, back in the day.
Conrad was also one of the key Afrocentric brothers who made inroads into mitigating the false depictions of the Ancient Egyptians by the University of Chicago, at its Oriental Institute. When I first came to Chicago in 1977, just a few years after the police assassinations of Black Panthers Fred Hampton and Mark Clark, Conrad and his cohorts were in full swing dismantling the false narrative's surrounding Ancient Egypt, and Mesopotamia.
And not to overlook Oscar's achievements. He's a united front brotha in his own right, whom I'm sure will provide plenty of insight into successful community activism forays.
If I'm correct, you worked with the saving and renovation of the South Shore Country Club on South Lake Shore Drive, didn't you?
Today, it's under community control and is called the South Shore Cultural Center.

Hmm, quite interesting! I'm pretty sure I know of Dr Conrad Worrill's legacy, especially as it relates to the Afrocentric movement, at least the New York city part of it.. Also pretty sure he's been interviewed on the Imhotep Gary Byrd Show on AM radio station WLIB, in New York City - mostly during the 1990s, and relating the Million Man March etc.
Man, during that period WLIB used to host & interview folks like Dr Clarke, Prof. Jeffries, Dr Tony Martin, Dr Ben, Prof Smalls, Dr Ivan Van Sertrima etc etc. Quite a heady period of time, especially for those of us from the Caribbean studying in NY.
So yes, i'm well aware of Dr Conrad Worrill. I think he's one of the characters attacked in Mary Lefkowitz's anti-Afrocentric book, 'Not Out of Africa'. Maybe not referenced by name but lumped with other Afrocentric scholars in Lefkowitz's hateful & white supremacist book.
Glad to know his brother is continuing his work, legacy and mission, and is accomplished in his own right. Props!
