The $1.8 million slush fund, Trump’s achilles’ heel —

Right-thinking Republicans are rebelling against Trump’s Democracy-busting $1.8 billion slush fund. He knifed Ukraine in the back, saying they started the war with Russia. He has turned our NATO allies into adversaries. He has imprisoned Venezuela’s sovereign leader, Nickolas Maduro and his wife. He has undermined the military and fired its top brass. He has gutted America’s administrative state. He has spiked inflation. He’s given Russia a back channel for oil revenue.

But now he’s about to go the way of his mentor Joseph McCarthy. The push back on the money that would instantly fund his militia, of Jan. 6-pardoned goons is the last straw. And GOP congressmen realize they are not safe either with the narcissist, who has proclaimed himself king, while backstabbing his closest miscreants.

The writing is on the wall. They see they are expendable at any turn. And most of all, they know that history, and their progeny, will look upon them unfavorably when American Democracy stood at its critical cross road.

Yep, Trump's desire to compensate the Jan. 6 crowd doesn't pass the smell test, not even the smell test of his sycophants in Congress. The revolt is starting. I laughed when i heard him claim Biden weaponized the Justice Department.

Who has really been victimized by a weaponized Justice Department? Does the name Kilmar Abrego Garcia ring a bell?

Thats stealing taxpayer money and handing it out to his friend. His achilles' heel is obviously his highly internationalized oligarchy.

Thanks for mentioning his mentor "Joseph McCarthy"(photo below). Was Joseph McCarthy a "communist? Or was he someone who was scared from communist Soviet spies? lol

McCarthy was a Wisconsin Senator. His assistant, Roy Cohen, was actually Trump's mentor. One of my first memories of television was watching the McCarthy hearing on our TV. I was a first grader. Mom was so pissed at him that she bought a "Joe Must Go" Sticker and put in on the bumper of our 1953 Desoto. LOL!!! I recall the gas station owner on the corner got pissed when he saw it, and mom got into with him. Our Jewish neighbor, Hazel, came to her aid telling him that she will no longer buy gas from him. Ha!!! Ma loved ole Hazel after her help in the argument.

Ha-ha-ha, I don't blame her. I would have probably said/done the same thing.

Thanks for the accurate information about Joseph McCarthy not being the mentor of Trump, instead his assistant was. Actually from what I'm reading "Joe" was extremely afraid of communism in a period of intense Cold War paranoia.

The bigger question is, why Trump felt this was okay and that he'd get away with it?

.. this slush fund is basically paying reparations to many of the Jan.6 rioters for their unjust "suffering" under Biden's DOJ.
Paying reparations to the same hoodlums who beat up cops and threatened the life of Trump's own VP Mike Pence. Gosh!

And once again: WHERE IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY? Their poll numbers are just as bad as Trump's, just slightly better.

Oh yeah, Maestro, I know Roy Cohn was Trump’s direct mentor. But it’s apparent Donald Trump has taken a lot of his chutzpah from the Joe MacCathy playbook.

And like ole Joe, I think Trump’s fire is going to be extinguished in short order.

In the myth, Achilles was a great warrior, but his vulnerable spot unbeknownst to most, was his heel. He was struck by an arrow in his heel, during battle, which brought an end to his seeming invincibility.
