While the discussion about what’s gone on in the downward path we’ve experienced in our country, it’s often attributed to politics, particularly the anarchy determined to destroy us. Personally, I think the political hostility is symptomatic of the battle between good and evil. And I believe that evil is the absence of God. So, with that perspective, I also believe that winning that battle absolutely requires our understanding that it cannot be won without our dependence on God, our prayers, our response to His will. It seems the evil is reactive against God and the good is responsive. So, then there’s the challenge of living up to my own beliefs. It’s so easy to feel angry, but it’s so instructive that I am feeling the grief daily for Charlie Kirk’s assassination, a man I never met, whose faith and patriotism are so great.
By the way, I heard Al Mohler speak to Charlie’s faith and how his love of freedom drove him to the realization that true freedom can only from God, and how that impacted his faith. And that made me think the best man/ government can do re freedom is to honor and protect it.
