Do no Companies or Businesses employ staff to answer phones nowadays, whoever you ring now you tend to get a recorded announcement to go on line or press button *.
For example yesterday I needed to speak to The Tyne and Wear Pension Scheme office, press button *, Your call will be answered in approximately 20 minutes, 40 minutes later gave up as a bad job and a waste of my time, absolutely useless !
