Back then High alumina cements were being used and they caused problems.

In 1975 I worked at the DHS tower block in Washington.

All the floor slabs had to be reinforced with steelwork to reduce the span of the floors.

Some had two steel beams inserted to cut the spans by a third.

I was there for 8 or 9 months.

Maybe a defect has shown up!
